What does ruck pace measure?

Ruck pace is your average time per kilometer or mile while carrying a loaded pack. It is more specific than normal walking pace because load changes effort, posture, foot stress, and fatigue.

How is ruck pace calculated?

Ruck pace = total time ÷ distance Average speed = distance ÷ total time

This calculator also lets you enter body weight and ruck weight so the result includes load percentage. That makes it more useful than a simple pace converter.

How should you use the result?

Use it to track progress across similar routes, estimate event finish times, and manage load progression. If you add weight and your pace collapses, the load may be too aggressive for your current conditioning.
